Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to quotations, installations, maintenance and repairs carried out by MCD Security Systems Ltd, 5 Square Street, Bradford, BD4 7NP. By accepting a quotation you agree to these terms. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. Quotations and surveys
Quotations are based on the information gathered at a survey and are valid for 30 days. Prices are fixed for the scope described; if the scope changes — for example additional cameras, concealed cable routes or unforeseen building work — we will confirm the revised price in writing before proceeding.
Where a quotation is given without a survey, it is indicative and will be confirmed after we have seen the property.
3. Installation
We will agree an installation date with you and aim to complete on the day stated. Access to the property, power and, where required, a working internet connection must be available. Any delay caused by site conditions will be discussed with you before additional costs are incurred.
We work tidily and make good where we have disturbed surfaces, but we do not undertake decoration or plastering beyond filling and sanding fixing points. Where cables must be surface-run, we will agree the route with you first.
4. Payment
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, domestic installations are payable on completion. Commercial projects may be invoiced in stages, with terms stated on the quotation. Invoices are payable within 14 days.
We accept bank transfer and major debit and credit cards. Title to equipment passes to you on payment in full.
5. Warranty
Our installation workmanship is warranted for two years from completion. Manufacturer warranties on equipment are passed to you and are typically between one and three years depending on the product.
The warranty covers faulty installation and equipment failure under normal use. It does not cover damage caused by others, lightning or power surges, water ingress through building defects, deliberate damage, or changes made by a third party. Consumable items such as batteries are excluded.
6. Maintenance
Systems under a maintenance agreement are serviced at the agreed interval, with faults prioritised. Systems without an agreement are attended on a best-efforts basis and may be chargeable, including call-out and labour.
7. Cancellation and consumer rights
If you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our premises, you have 14 days from the date of agreement to cancel without reason. If you ask us to begin work within that period, you may be charged for work already carried out and for equipment already ordered that cannot be returned.
Business customers may cancel within seven days of accepting a quotation, provided no installation work has started and no bespoke equipment has been ordered.
8. Liability
We maintain public liability insurance and carry out work with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of recorded footage where the cause is outside our control, including theft of equipment, power failure or network failure.
We are not responsible for the actions of third parties, including monitoring centres operated by other organisations.
9. Complaints
If something is not right, contact us on 01274 449 786 or at sales@mcdsecurity.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge complaints within two working days and resolve them within 28 days.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
